13-year-old boy rescued from rubble in Turkey 182 hours after earthquake

Rescuers found the teenager in the rubble 182 hours later.

Antakya, Turkey:

Rescue workers pulled a 13-year-old survivor from under the rubble of a collapsed building in Turkey’s southern Hatay province on Monday, Reuters footage showed more than a week after a devastating earthquake struck.

Before being taken into an ambulance, the teen held a rescuer’s hand as he was placed on a stretcher, head tied and covered for warmth.

With hopes of finding many more survivors in the fast-evaporating rubble, the combined death toll from last Monday’s magnitude 7.8 earthquake in Turkey and neighboring Syria has topped 37,000 and looks set to keep rising.
