- Haryana New Delhi Hearing held against wrestlers at Jantar Mantar Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court seeks status report from Delhi Police

Wrestlers’ strike against BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, President of Wrestling Federation of India (WFI), at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar entered the 18th day on Wednesday. On the other hand, hearing on the petition of women wrestlers was held in Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court today. In which the court has sought a status report from the Delhi Police in the matter. Now the next hearing of the case will be on May 12.
During the hearing in the court, the advocate of the wrestlers said that we lodged a complaint but the police did not take any action. After we filed a petition in the Supreme Court, the police registered an FIR on March 28. An FIR has been registered in the case under the POCSO Act and other sections. Inside the court, the counsel for the wrestlers said that the police is delaying the investigation of the case. Till now the statement of any victim under section 164 has not been recorded by the police. On behalf of the wrestlers, the lawyer even said in the court that an official of the Sports Ministry said that why are you not settling the matter, you will face problems.
Wrestlers filed application in court
Explain that the women wrestlers have filed a complaint under 156 (3) before the Rouse Avenue Court to monitor the investigation against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. In the petition, the minor victim and others have sought recording of their statements soon. It has been said in the petition that the police is prolonging the investigation and not getting the victim’s statement recorded before the court.
Next hearing will be on May 12
After hearing the counsel for the wrestlers, the court said that first keep the copy of the FIR on record, only then we will be able to take any action. An order has been sought from the Magistrate to seek a status report from the Investigating Officer related to the matter on the ongoing investigation in the case of wrestlers. The petition states that the Supreme Court had given permission to approach the appropriate authority. Rouse Avenue Court seeks status report from Delhi Police on plea of women wrestlers.
