The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has opened 48 temporary Reduce, Reuse and Recycle (RRR) centers in the city as part of a drive. BBMP is running “My Life and My Clean City” campaign from 20th May to 5th June.
According to a release by the civic body on Wednesday, the public can reuse plastic carry bags, toys, old jeans, uniforms, sarees, old magazines, newspapers, old books, plastic items and electronic items. and recycled at these RRR centres.
Centers have been opened across the city under the Swachh Bharat Mission – Urban 2.0 programme. According to BBMP, these centers will play a vital role in proper disposal and recycling of waste.
Citizens, educational institutions, business establishments and other industries can use the RRR centres. The BBMP said that whoever drops the item will get an e-certificate, and whoever drops more items will be awarded gifts as an incentive to participate in the initiative.
The centers will remain open from 7 am to 1 pm from May 20 to June 5.
