Coimbatore: A 30-year-old married man stabbed his 20-year-old lover to death in Coimbatore. Gauri Nagar near Mahalingapuram in Pollachi here on Tuesday evening, allegedly after he tortured her to marry him. Police have sent a special team to Palakkad, Kerala to nab the culprit.
Mahalingapuram police have identified the deceased as R Subalakshmi of Advani Nagar in Edayarpalayam. She was a B.Com final year student at a private college in Saravanampatti.
A police officer said that Subalakshmi was in love with 30-year-old K Sujay of Edayarpalayam Fort for more than three years. “However, Sujay had married Reshma of Palakkad two years ago. His wife had recently gone to her parents’ house for the delivery of the child.
Sujay continued his relationship with the college girl, who came to his apartment on Tuesday evening.” According to the officer, Subalakshmi and Sujay had a heated argument about their relationship and Sujay, in a fit of rage, slashed her neck. , chest and abdomen, he died on the spot.” He later told his mother Gandhimati about the incident and requested her to alert the Mahalingapuram police.”
