The apex court on Friday dismissed the plea saying that the court was not inclined to interfere with the CBFC’s decision to grant certification to the film. Hindustan Times quoted Justice Kaul as saying, “Everyone is sensitive about everything now…tolerance towards films, books is decreasing.”
The report further states that the court stayed the proceedings before the Allahabad High Court, which is hearing petitions challenging the portrayal of Ramayana in Adipurush. The high court had earlier ordered the makers of the film to appear before it on July 27.
Earlier this month, the ‘Adipurush’ writer Manoj Muntashir Also agreed that the film has hurt the sentiments of the people. He issued a public apology, which read, “I accept that Adipurush has hurt people’s sentiments. I apologize unconditionally with folded hands. May Lord Bajrang Bali keep us united and give us strength to serve our holy Sanatan and our great nation.
