Akshay’s Lord Shiva look has received mixed reactions, with a section of netizens doubting how the pious character will turn out. Recently, mythological films including Adipurush and Brahmastra have been accused of hurting religious sentiments, and hence, a confusion has arisen among people regarding films on such subjects.
Amidst all this, Akshay’s old statement on religion has again surfaced on the internet. At the time of Sooryavanshi’s release, Akshay Kumar had said in an interview that there is only one religion and that is “being Indian”, and his film reflects the same sentiment.
“I do not believe in any religion. I only believe in being Indian and the film also shows the same. The idea of being an Indian and the idea of being a Parsi or a Hindu or a Muslim, we have not seen it on the basis of religion,” Akshay told PTI in an interview.
Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar recently announced that the teaser of OMG 2 will be released on July 11, a month ahead of the film’s August 11 release. The film also stars Yami Gautam and Pankaj Tripathi.
The release of the sequel of OMG is expected to clash with the sequel of another much-awaited Gadar 2, starring Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel.
