Varanasi: The movable and immovable property of the jailed mafia don Mukhtar Ansariis a close associate of Angad Rai On Tuesday, Ghazipur police attached an amount of Rs 7.17 crore to Jhulan Rai alias Jhulan Rai in Sherpur village of Bhanwarkole area.
Regarding Tuesday’s action, SP Ghazipur Omveer Singh told that Angad Rai, a dreaded criminal of Mukhtar gang, is currently lodged in jail and the police had earlier announced a cash reward of Rs 50,000 on him. He told that a total of 22 criminal cases are registered against him.
During the ongoing police investigation against the Mukhtar gang, it came to light that Anad had made immovable property in Sherpur village of Bhanwarkole area with illegally earned money. The SP said that when the police started a detailed investigation of the case, it was found that he had bought a plot in the Jagjivanpur area of ​​Mohammadabad in the name of his wife Sarita Rai, on which a building was being constructed. He said that he had bought another property in his native village Saharpur.
He said that the total market value of the properties has been worked out to Rs 7,17,04,460. “After collecting all the details, a report was sent to the district magistrate. The DM ordered us to seize the properties under the Gangster Act,” said the police.
