Apple CEO Tim Cook met the prime minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi today (April 19). Top company executives are on a visit to India as Apple celebrates 25 years in the country. Cook thanked PM methods and said the company shares his vision of the “positive impact that technology can make on India’s future.”
“Thank you PM @narendramodi for the warm welcome. We share your vision of technology’s positive impact on India’s future – from education and developers to manufacturing and the environment, we are committed to grow and invest across the country,” he tweeted.

This is Cook’s second meeting with PM Modi. Cook had met Modi during his first visit to the country in May 2016.

The iPhone maker is also opening its first retail store in India. Apple opens its first flagship store apple bkc In Mumbai, earlier this week. The company is going to open its second store in Delhi on 20th April. Cook is expected to be present at the inauguration Apple Saket Store in Delhi. The company’s top executive opened the doors of the country’s first retail store in Mumbai. Apple’s second retail store will open tomorrow at 10 am.
“Hello New Delhi. We’re getting ready to open the doors to our first store in the capital. We can’t wait to see what colorful creativity you bring to Apple Saket,” Apple said on its website.

Apple Saket runs Powered on 100% renewable energy and is carbon neutral. The store will be staffed by over 70 retail team members, who come from a combined 18 states in India and collectively speak over 15 languages.
‘Today at Apple Saket, programming at Apple will take place in a roundtable setting for a more personalized customer experience,’ the company said.
The Apple Saket store has a dedicated Apple Pickup station and Genius Bar for technical and hardware support from an expert. A Genius Bar appointment can help with everything from setting up a device, recovering an Apple ID, selecting an AppleCare plan, or modifying a subscription.
