Bhumi Pednekar disagrees with those who believe that glamorous actors cannot act on screen.
Bhumi Pednekar was a part of three different films in 2022 and each one was different from the other. While the comedy-thriller Govinda Naam Mera opposite Vicky Kaushal featured the actress in a different kind of role, Akshay Kumar The starrer Raksha Bandhan was a powerful film revolving around the social theme of dowry and Badhaai Do with Rajkumar Rao talked about LGBTQIA+ relationships. Bhumi Pednekar at the recently concluded FICCI Frames 2023 shared,
“I enjoy the glamor bit of being an actor, I love it. I am naturally that person. In the beginning of my career, my films didn’t give me a chance to showcase it, but no complaints. I can sit in front of the mirror and glam myself for hours. It’s therapeutic, and I’m not at all ashamed to say that.
Because of the films that I do, people think that I am a serious actor. But just because I enjoy vanity, it takes nothing away from my craft.
He also said, “Comedy is really the most difficult form of art. You really have to be on your toes, you have to have that time, that meter. You still need to make people feel. People think she is just dancing and singing around the trees. No, it also requires some serious talent.”
Meanwhile, on the work front, Bhumi Pednekar was last seen in Anubhav Sinha’s Bhide opposite Rajkummar Rao. The film drew parallels between the Partition of India in 1947 and the plight of migrant workers during corona virus Epidemic. Currently she can be seen in Sudhir Mishra’s film ‘Afwah’.
