Prime Minister Narendra Modi Predicting a landslide victory for the BJP in Karnataka on Friday, he said the unplanned road show and the huge turnout at a public meeting here was proof that the party was on top.

The Prime Minister held a massive road show in the city before going to the venue of the public meeting to campaign for the ruling party.

At an election rally here, Modi made a point of chanting ‘Bajrang Bali ki Jai’ (Victory to Hanuman) and quoted a line from famous Kannada poet Kuvempu’s poem on Lord Hanuman.

“The BJP is coming (to power) with a thumping majority. There was no pre-planned programme, but a mega roadshow took place because of the huge turnout,” he said.

He also claimed that the opposition Congress has a problem with those who chant ‘Jai Bajrang Bali’.

In the final leg of the election campaign, both the ruling BJP and the opposition Congress are trying their best to win the high-stakes Karnataka assembly elections. Voting is on May 10 and the results will come on May 13.
