Ludhiana: Ludhiana Rural Police has registered a case against a teacher for allegedly thrashing a Class 2 student on Sunday. Jagraon,
The teacher has been identified as Pindar Madam, who runs a private tuition center in Agwar Rara area.
The complainant, Paramjit Kaur of Agwar Rara Chungi, in Jagraon, told cops that her daughter Lovepreet Kaur studies in Class 2 at a school near Baba Lappe Shah Ji dargah.
She got her daughter registered for classes at the tuition center of the accused on May 2.
The complainant said, “On Saturday at around 4.15 pm, my husband dropped our daughter Lovepreet Kaur for tuition at Madam Pindar’s house. At around 6 pm, Lovepreet returned home from her tuition classes in a disturbed state, clearly upset and was crying.”
According to the victim’s mother, her daughter had multiple injuries on her face, back, knees and left ear. When asked about the incident, the victim broke down in tears and narrated how her teacher had beaten and slapped her on Saturday.
Further, the complainant has also stated that his daughter was surrounded and beaten with a stick by the accused when she tried to run away from the class. Police was informed and immediately reached the place of the complainant and started investigation.
Subsequently, the accused was charged under sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 341 (wrongful restraint) of the Indian Penal Code as well as a section of the Juvenile Justice Act.
