Kanpur: Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University signed an MoU with inter american university from the USA to Puerto Rico on Wednesday to facilitate the exchange of students and faculty in disciplines including agriculture, biotechnology, artificial intelligence and optometry.
Memorandum of understanding The signing was done in the presence of Dr. Rafael Ramirez Rivera, President of the Inter American University of Puerto Rico, Dr. Juan Negron Berrios, Chancellor of the University, in the presence of CSJMU VC Professor Vinay Kumar Pathak and Pro-VC Professor Sudhir Awasthi. Both universities agreed to participate and jointly organize scientific meetings, submit research proposals and provide international training to students. Emphasis was also placed on opportunities for CSJMU students to spend an academic semester in the USA.
This MoU is very promising for both the universities as it will open new avenues for 21st century science. Dr. Rafael Ramirez Rivera noted that concrete measures must be adopted for future technology-driven education, while Professor Vinay Kumar Pathak reiterated the importance of integrating and understanding the finer nuances of artificial intelligence to solve environmental challenges.
Dr. Juan Negron Berrios emphasized the need for sustainable agriculture through technological innovations and research integration at the undergraduate level.
The representatives of both the universities vowed to take sustainable steps to create a healthy society driven by science and technology. Dr. Gaurav Kumar, Assistant Professor, CSJMU, and Dr. Alok Arun, Inter-American University of Puerto Rico, were officially appointed to oversee the bilateral implementation of broad areas of the MoU to strengthen ties between the two universities.
Prof Sudhanshu Pandiya, Prof Sandeep Kumar Singh, Prof Varsha Gupta, Dr Anuradha Kalani, Dr Prabhat Diwedi, Dr Rajeev Mishra, Dr Ajay Kumar Pandey and media in charge CSJMU Dr Vishal Sharma were also present on the occasion.
