New Delhi: A 33-year-old woman allegedly committed suicide after being “forced to abort 14 times” by her live-in partner over a period of eight years, police said on Thursday, citing a suicide note. .
The incident happened on July 5 in southeast Delhi’s Jaitpur area, he said.
In a suicide note written in Hindi, the woman has alleged that she was in a live-in relationship with a man who had physical relations with her on the pretext of marriage but refused to marry her and had nothing but suicide. No option left. Police said that she was living separately from her husband.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (South East) Isha Pandey said, “A PCR call was received regarding suicide by a woman in Jaitpur on July 5. A police team reached the spot where a woman was found hanging in a room. She was immediately shifted. AIIMS Where the doctor declared him brought dead.”
“The excreta used for hanging and the mobile phone of the deceased have been confiscated. After preliminary investigation, it has been found that the woman was living separately from her husband for the last seven-eight years,” he said.
The DCP said that his parents, who live in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur, were informed and the body was handed over to them after the post-mortem.
Police said that AIIMS doctors handed over a suicide note and viscera to the police.
“We have registered a case under sections 306 (abetment to suicide), 376 (rape) and 313 (abortion without consent of woman) of the Indian Penal Code and further investigation has been conducted,” the DCP said.
Woman’s husband works in a private firm South Extension Police said that he was also called for questioning which told the police that he and his wife had separated about eight years ago.
He said that raids are being conducted to arrest the accused.
