DTC bus brakes fail, rams into multiple vehicles: Auto driver killed, 5 injured

The brake of a DTC bus failed in Delhi’s New Friends Colony on Wednesday afternoon. Due to this the bus hit several vehicles. An auto rickshaw driver died in the accident. At the same time, five people were seriously injured. On getting the information, the police reached and admitted the injured to the hospital with the help of the local people. The condition of two of them remains critical.

The accident took place at Mashi Garh Chowk in New Friends Colony, South East Delhi. South East Delhi DCP Rajesh Deo said that the cluster bus, which has route number 534, was going from Nehru Place towards Maharani Bagh in the afternoon. The brake of the bus failed near Mashi Garh Chowk. After this, the uncontrollable bus hit about 6 vehicles including a taxi, scooty going on the road.

There were five people in the car seen in the picture, out of which 4 were injured. At the same time, the person riding the scooty has a leg injury.

On receiving the news, the police reached the spot and took the injured to the hospital. The auto rickshaw driver who was injured in the accident died. However, he has not been identified yet. The injured have been identified as Shajaud, Islam, Kalimuddin, Tehseen, Mohammad Shagir. At the time of the accident, he was passing by the car.

After the accident, the accused had fled from the spot. However, the police later arrested him. The accused bus driver Neeraj Kumar is a resident of Mandoli Extension.
