Hansal Mehta’s upcoming film Faraaz revolves around the real-life terror attack at a Dhaka cafe in 2016.

Filmmaker Hansal Mehta released the trailer of his film Faraaz on Monday, 16 January. The action thriller directed by Mehta stars Zahaan Kapoor, Aditya Rawal, Juhi Babbar and Aamir Ali and produced by Anubhav Sinha. The film is based on the events of the 2016 real-life terror attack on a Dhaka cafe. The short clip begins with several people sitting in the cafe when it is taken over by terrorists.

The film will be released in theaters on 3 February.

Meanwhile, the film opened to a stupendous response with a sold-out show at the BFI London Film Festival last year. Starring debutants Jehan Kapoor and Aditya Rawal, the film had its world premiere at the prestigious Curzon Cinema in Soho, the British capital.

Faraz will chronicle the events that took place in Dhaka on the night of July 1, 2016, where five young terrorists vandalized an upmarket cafe and held more than 50 people hostage for nearly 12 terrifying hours.

Faraaz is produced by Kumar and Sinha along with Sakshi Bhatt, Sahil Sehgal and Mazahir Mandsaurwala under the banner of Banaras Mediaworks and T-Series as well as Mahana Films. Apart from Kapoor and Rawal, the film also stars Juhi Babbar, Aamir Ali, Pallak Lalwani, Sachin Lalwani and Resham Sahani in pivotal roles.
