Garmin Edge 1040 Solar and Varia RCT715 Features:
The Garmin Edge 1040 Solar is equipped with the brand’s PowerGlass technology, which we also saw on its new smartwatch in the market. This technology is the main reason why this Edge 1040 Solar can be charged using solar power. It also gets multi-band GNSS so that you can get accurate GPS readings during your ride. It promises up to 100 hours of battery life with battery save mode enabled.
The device gives you important details such as VO2 max, ideal recovery time since your last ride, and how much load the training is carrying on the rider, and gives you a focused approach to training.
The Edge 1040 Solar also gives you readings while riding in different conditions and gets alerts for braking. You can pair this device with the Garmin Connect app on your smartphone to sync all the data.
The Varia RCT715 gives you visual and audio alerts and specifically alerts the cyclist about any oncoming vehicles. The tail light works well with the Garmin bike computer, smartwatch or Veria smart device app. With the lights and camera on, the Varia RCT715 lasts about 6 hours, and adding a night flash reduces the backup time to 4 hours.
