General group says no one will be allowed to undermine church tradition

The second phase of what is being called the ‘Campaign for Justice’ was launched in front of St Mary’s Cathedral Basilica here on Monday by a group of laymen and priests who are protesting against the transfer of cathedral parish priest Father Antony Narikulam. , The group also called for the introduction of full face-to-face masses in the cathedral as soon as possible.

The protest organisers, led by lay people’s group Almaya Munnettam, said they would not allow anyone to destroy the tradition of the Ernakulam-Angamaly Archdiocese. The protesters said it was unfair that a new parish priest was appointed in the cathedral parish as Fr Narikulam’s appeal was pending before higher church authorities.
