Google makes it easier to edit videos on Chromebooks using Photos app – Times of India

Google announced new video editing features and tools for the Photos app that will give users more detailed control over video editing on Chromebooks. And, starting today, Google has started rolling out video editing features in Google Photos along with some new features. For those who don’t know, ChromeOS currently has a limited selection of video editing apps which are also very limited in terms of features.

New video editing features include suggested subjects that will suggest users the best footage from the gallery and help them choose the best for their videos. The editor will also support local files, meaning users can use on-device files in addition to videos or photos stored on the cloud to create videos.
To make it a complete experience, the editor in Google Photos will also provide users with a bunch of preset audio and music to add as background to the video. Note that these songs will be royalty free tunes.
How to get the updated Google Photos on Chromebook
Google Photos usually comes pre-installed on Chromebooks. However, you will need to install the latest version of the app available through play store To be able to use the facility. If you’ve deleted the app, it can be re-downloaded through the Play Store.
How to get started with the editor in the Photos app on Chromebook
Using the editor in the Photos app is straightforward. All you have to do is open the updated Photos app and start selecting photos and videos. Google Photos will then suggest a theme for the video, choose one, then choose a soundtrack and that’s it. You can export the video and view it in the Photos app.
Google Photos lets users edit each photo and video selected individually for better and personalized output.
