Yamunanagar: Superintendent of Police Mohit Handa at Sadhaura police station in Yamunanagar district of Haryana on Thursday suspended three policemen on charges of extortion and corruption.
The SP said he has also written to the Haryana State Vigilance Bureau (SVB) to take action against an inspector-rank police officer, who is registered in the case and posted as station house officer (SHO) in Sadhaura.
Handa said Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Jitendra and two exempted ASIs – Surendra Kumar and Praveen Kumar – were suspended on July 12 for their involvement in a criminal case registered at Sadhaura.
He said that a departmental inquiry has been initiated against him.
Handa said, “Inspector Ramphal was found involved in a case of extortion and corruption along with three suspended police officers. Ramphal is now posted with SVB and hence, we have informed the department to take action against him”, Handa said.
Meanwhile, Handa said that they have constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) under the leadership of DSP Radaur Rajat Gulia to conduct a thorough probe against the police.
