The Delhi High Court has challenged the Indian Olympic Association’s (IOA) adhoc committee’s decision on direct entry by exempting wrestlers Vinesh Phogat and Bajrang Punia in the trials for the Asian Games. Last Panghal and Vishal Kaliraman have raised their voice about this. Apart from the last, another wrestler Sanjit Kalkal has filed a petition in the Delhi High Court. The matter will be heard on Thursday morning at 10.30 am. The joint petition of both the wrestlers has been presented before Delhi High Court Chief Justice Satish Chandra Sharma.

The petition, filed by their advocates Hrishikesh Baruah and Akshay Kumar, has sought that the exemption granted to Bajrang and Vinesh be set aside by setting aside the directions issued by the IOA’s titular committee in respect of two categories (men’s freestyle 65kg and women’s 53kg). In fact, BJP leader and former wrestler Yogeshwar Dutt first objected to this decision. Also asked the rest of the wrestlers and various wrestling associations to raise their voice against it. After which the wrestlers have raised their voice.

Videos have surfaced of wrestlers Akhilavi Panghal and Vishal Kaliraman protesting against the exemption from trial.

Let us tell you that the ad hoc committee of the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) on Tuesday decided that the trials will be held at the KD Jadhav Indoor Stadium on July 22 and 23. Vinesh and Bajrang will not participate in this. Wrestlers Bajrang and Vinesh Phogat, who have leveled sexual harassment allegations against former Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) president and BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, have been included in the Asian Games squad without trial. The ad-hoc committee has given place to both of them in the team against the wishes of the head coaches of the team. There is anger among other wrestlers of both these weight categories against this decision.
fair trial demand
The petition has demanded that the trial should be conducted in a fair manner. No exemption should be given to any wrestler. The entire process should be videographed. The petition contended that these wrestlers, during their protest at Jantar Mantar, had said that their fight was for justice and the interest of junior wrestlers, now they want to sideline junior wrestlers. So we had to approach the court against this decision. It has been specifically stated in the petition that it is not justified to allow Vinesh Phogat and Bajrang Punia to directly participate in the Asian Games without trials.

At last Panghal said she will defeat Vinesh
At last Panghal says he is ready to wrestle with Vinesh. She is confident that she will defeat Vinesh. Not only this, it has been said in the petition that Vinesh Phogat has not practiced wrestling for the last 1 year. Despite this, ignoring all these facts, he has been allowed to go to the Asian Games without trial. Sujit said that there are 5-6 wrestlers in the country in the 65 kg category, who are capable of defeating Bajrang.
