Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren has requested President Murmu on Thursday. On Thursday, Soren demanded the President to help the state get the Centre’s nod to implement the Sarna Code. The followers of the Sarna tribals, who describe themselves as worshipers of nature, have been demanding a separate religious recognition for decades. Also they demand that in the next census another option Sarna should be included in the religious column. Let me tell you, a resolution was passed in the Jharkhand Assembly. The resolution demanded the inclusion of Sarna as a separate religion in the census.

Demand to include three languages as well

Chief Minister Soren says that if the Center approves the demand, the existence of tribals will be protected. He has urged President Murmu to include three tribal languages in the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution in addition to the Sarna Code. These three tribal languages include Mundari, Ho and Kudukh. Tell me, the government has already given the status of second language to these three languages in Jharkhand.

25 thousand women participated

Speaking at the conference of self-help groups organized in Khunti district, the CM had said that the state government is working with the central government to respect the tribals. We have to take forward our identity, land and language. About 25 thousand women participated in the program organized at Birsa Munda College Stadium.

Know what is Sarna code

There is a demand from a community of native tribals of Jharkhand that they be given the status of a separate religion. The followers of Sarna call themselves worshipers of nature and have been demanding for a long time the identity of a separate religion. Tribals say that since they are not recognized as a separate religion, some include them in Hinduism, some in Muslim and many in Christianity. On demand, Union Minister Fagan Singh Kulaste had once said that tribals are Sanatani Hindus first. Their worship method matches with the worship style of Hindus. There is no difference between the two. Only those who have the intention of dividing religion and society are demanding a separate religion.
