A 17-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped by three youths while she was returning home from a fair in Jharkhand’s East Singhbhum district. The incident took place on Monday night in Chakulia police station area of Ghatshila subdivision. The police are yet to arrest any of the accused.
According to the police, while returning from the fair, the accused surrounded him and took him to an isolated place after threatening him. Police said that there he allegedly raped the girl. After this, the accused fled leaving him at the spot. Somehow she reached home and narrated the entire incident to her family members.
Police has registered an FIR of the incident. Police registered an FIR against the accused for gangrape and under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act. Chakulia police station in-charge Varun Kumar Yadav said that all the accused have been identified and will be arrested soon.
