In a conversation with Indianexpress.com, Karan said that the initial idea came from his parents. He elaborated and said that he always wondered how his mother slept peacefully next to his father who snores so loudly! When he asked this to his mother, she replied that she was so comfortable with him that he could not even hear her snore.

Karan It was an interesting premise to begin with and she started thinking of reasons why her heroine would not like to sleep next to her husband in the film. Then this idea started forming from there.
