Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah and Deputy CM DK Shivakumar will meet Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and other leaders in Delhi on Wednesday. During this, cabinet expansion can be discussed.
Karnataka Congress President DK Shivakumar had reached Delhi on Wednesday itself. Whereas, Siddaramaiah reached Delhi at night. DK reached Delhi and dismissed rumors of a rift within the party. He said that as the State Party President, I can tell that there is nothing like this. There is no internal issue.
Siddaramaiah and DK Shivakumar were the two big candidates for the post of CM of Karnataka. Later Siddaramaiah prevailed and was made the Chief Minister of the state.
Cabinet expansion may happen soon in Karnataka
DK said that this is a routine tour. We also have to expand the cabinet as soon as possible. Work is going on on that. We will discuss issues related to the state with senior party leaders.
On May 20, 8 ministers were sworn in along with Siddaramaiah and DK. However, portfolios have not been given to the ministers so far. The Karnataka government can have a maximum of 34 ministers. In such a situation, there is a possibility of cabinet expansion soon.
Congress had made 5 big promises to the people of Karnataka before the elections. They were also approved in the cabinet meeting after the swearing-in on May 20.
