Following the decision of the Supreme Court on the issue of transfer-posting of officers in Delhi, the central government has brought an ordinance. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is opposing it. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is meeting leaders to seek the support of opposition parties against this ordinance.

Kejriwal will meet NCP chief Sharad Pawar today on this issue. He has also met Uddhav Thackeray, Mamta Banerjee, Nitish Kumar, Rahul Gandhi and Kharge. All the leaders had spoken of supporting Kejriwal in the Parliament.

At the same time, the Congress was divided into two factions regarding the support of Kejriwal. Party general secretary KC Venugopal spoke of supporting AAP against the ordinance. Party leader in Delhi Ajay Maken denied support. Now a war of words has started between the leaders of AAP and Congress on this issue.

AAP leader Saurabh Bhardwaj on Wednesday claimed that the Center may also bring ordinances on regulation of services in Karnataka and other states in future. Ajay Maken is rejoicing over the victory in Karnataka, but he must remember that tomorrow the Center may bring a similar ordinance in Karnataka and take away police powers there, what will he do then?

Reacting to Saurabh’s statement, Congress leader Sandeep Dixit said the Center cannot bring such an ordinance in other states and the laws and powers of the state government are clearly defined in the Constitution. Delhi is a union territory. Its powers can be given or taken from the Parliament.

On May 20, the central government brought an ordinance on the decision of the Supreme Court. After this, on May 21, Nitish Kumar met Arvind Kejriwal. Nitish supported Kejriwal.
