When Lauren Gottlieb Started Bollywood With ABCD in 2013, she was already a dance sensation in Hollywood. Nine years later, former So You Think You Can Dance contestant and Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa decided to take a break from stardom and instead focus on her own well-being.
While talking to Maniesh Paul on her podcast, Lauren revealed that several reasons forced her to leave and she just wasn’t ‘happy’ and kept doing ‘spirals’. “I was rising to fame, but the more I spiraled. I knew the biggest risk was to let it all go, but I believed in myself so much that I knew if I worked on myself and If I feel mentally healthy, I will be back,” she said.
Speaking about her struggle with depression on set, she said that she felt the need to ‘quit’ despite being ‘great on set’. “I was always so focused. But there were so many things on set that were out of my control. I had to let all that go. I knew I needed to leave because I wanted an acting school and I needed therapy It was,” she recalled.
