West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee also claimed that the BSF had ‘spread terror’ in the state’s border areas

Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee Monday reiterated his call to defeat the BJP in 2024, and said the country should strive to bring in “people’s government to end anarchy”.

Speaking in the assembly, Banerjee said in an apparent reference to BJP president JP Nadda’s recent remarks on violence and corruption in Bengal that her state has a better law and order situation than other parts of the country.

He also claimed that the BSF had ‘spread terror’ in the border areas of the state.

“Innocent people are being killed in the border areas. The Center does not bother to send fact-finding teams to investigate these killings.

Ridiculing the Centre’s notification on hugging a cow on Valentine’s Day, which was later withdrawn, Banerjee wondered what would happen if a cow kills a person.

“What if the cow kills us? Will they (BJP) give us compensation?
