Idli seller Marikani Thevar was killed after his wife was thrown out of the house following a quarrel and her irate brother confronted him, PTI quoted Kishor Shirsat, senior inspector of Crime Unit III, as saying.
He said, “During the argument, the accused stabbed Thevar several times, killing him on the spot. Based on a tip-off that he would hide in Dharavi in Mumbai or try to escape to Chennai, police teams was formed,” he said.
The accused was arrested from Kalyan Station When he was about to board a train to Chennai, a murder case was registered on the complaint of the victim’s wife, the officer said.
