Long-awaited gameplay footage from Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has finally been unveiled, showcasing the next exciting chapter in the beloved Spider-Man franchise.
The gameplay was revealed by Sony during the mega summer event.
The PlayStation Showcase by the company delivered an action-packed hour filled with exciting announcements, unexpected surprises and engaging trailers, reports The Verge.
Spider-Man 2, which is set to launch in the fall of 2023, and the gameplay reveal offer a glimpse into the exciting features awaiting players.
In the gameplay reveal, one of the standout elements is the introduction of Kraven the Hunter.
As teased in the announcement trailer last year, Kraven makes his first appearance in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 in search of a formidable opponent.
This spells trouble for both the iconic Spider-Men, Peter Parker and Miles Morales, as they face a gallery of villains and a new Symbiote threat to Earth-1048.
In a blog post, Aaron Jason Espinoza, senior community manager at Insomniac Games, said that the gameplay demo sets the stage for an action-packed adventure as players assume the role of Peter Parker.

Sporting the iconic black suit, gameplay footage shows how Peter demonstrates new and more aggressive combat abilities.
Symbiote tendrils amplify Spider-Man’s attacks, delivering powerful blows and killing Kraven’s hunters without mercy.
Combat strategy becomes critical as Kraven’s highly trained hunters prove to be formidable adversaries. According to the blog post, players can use offensive parries, web-based maneuvers, and timely defenses to gain an advantage.
According to Aaron, the gameplay also introduces new takedown and combat animations that further showcase Spider-Man’s prowess in combat.
Notably, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 introduces a dual-playable experience, with Miles Morales returning as a major player in the story.
In the demo, Miles chases the villainous Lizard in Harlem, demonstrating advanced traversal mechanics and a speed boost.
The gameplay footage also highlights the rich and immersive world of Marvel’s New York. The DualSense wireless controller provides players with an enhanced sensory experience, with haptic feedback and adaptive triggers adding to the immersion.
