GURUGRAM: Gangster Vikas LagarpuriaThe alleged mastermind of the multi-crore loot here last year and the accused in murder and extortion cases were arrested from near Delhi-Gurgaon Seema, a top Special Task Force official said on Thursday.
IG STF, Gurugram B Satish Balan said Lagarpuria was traveling in a cab when he was caught.
Earlier, another official had said that the gangster was arrested from the Delhi airport.
The accused is a resident of Lagarpur village in Jhajjar district of Haryana. Several cases of murder, attempt to murder, dacoity, extortion and kidnapping are registered against him in Delhi and Haryana.
The Delhi Police had issued a red corner notice against Lagarpuria, who was absconding for the last seven years.
He is wanted by Haryana STF in connection with theft of Rs 30 crore in Gurugram. Two doctors, a Delhi policeman and a Haryana IPS officer are accused in the case.
The incident is of August 4 last year. The accused barged into a flat in Sector 84 here and decamped with Rs 30 crore in cash. The office of a private company was running from the flat.
Lagarpuria gang member Amit alias Mitta, a resident of Najafgarh, Delhi; Abhinav of Uttar Pradesh; and Dhare is arrested, after which he confesses to stealing the cash on the gangster’s instructions.
