Mumbai Rain: Heavy rains in surrounding areas including Mumbai, water logging in many places, schools will remain closed in five districts today

It is raining heavily in many surrounding districts including Maharashtra’s capital Mumbai. At the same time, the Meteorological Department has issued an alert of heavy rain in Mumbai, Thane, Raigad, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg districts. In view of this, instructions have been issued by the administration to close the school on Thursday. According to the Meteorological Department, moderate to heavy rain will continue in parts of Mumbai, Thane, Raigad and Palghar during the next 3-4 hours. Apart from this, there is a possibility of heavy rain in parts of Thane and Raigad. Strong winds can also blow during this time.

The Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in Thane, Palghar, Raigad, Pune, Satara and Ratnagiri and has also issued an ‘Orange’ alert. According to IMD, due to active Monsoon conditions, rain activity is likely to increase over parts of Konkan and parts of Madhya Maharashtra during next 4-5 days.
