The government has sent a letter to Punjab Governor Banwarilal Purohit requesting time for the swearing-in ceremony to be held in the morning.

AAP convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal arrived in Chandigarh on Wednesday as the Bhagwant Mann cabinet is set to expand with the induction of two new ministers. Keeping in view the upcoming local body elections, ministers from Muktsar and Jalandhar are expected to be inducted.

According to sources, Gurmeet Singh Khudian, MLA from Lambi and Balkar Singh, MLA from Kartarpur, are going to take oath as ministers in the Bhagwant Mann cabinet on Wednesday morning. However, there are also reports that the local government minister Inderbir Singh Nijjar has resigned from the cabinet.

The government has sent a letter to Punjab Governor Banwarilal Purohit requesting time for the swearing-in ceremony to be held in the morning. The letter was sent late in the evening as discussions were on within the party regarding the selection of new ministers.

Touted as a “giant killer”, Gurmeet Singh Khudian defeated late chief minister Parkash Singh Badal, who held the office for five terms, during the 2022 state elections. Since the formation of the government, there has been speculation about Khudian’s inclusion in the cabinet. ,

Meanwhile, Balkar Singh was instrumental in securing a significant victory for the Aam Aadmi Party in the recent Jalandhar Lok Sabha bypoll.

The induction of ministers in the Bhagwant Mann cabinet is the third expansion during the 14-month tenure of the Aam Aadmi Party in the state.

Arvind Kejriwal is scheduled to arrive in Chandigarh on Wednesday evening, where he will attend a gathering of all ministers, MLAs and MPs (both Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha) of the Aam Aadmi Party in Punjab.

The dinner, hosted by Punjab Chief Minister Mann, is aimed not only at maintaining a positive atmosphere among party leaders, but also at informing them about the ordinance, which the party believes is meant to establish control over officials in Delhi. was introduced by the BJP.
