Punjabi Singer Daler Mehndi Arrested: Two Years Imprisonment Upheld In 2003 Pigeon Baazi Case; will be sent to patiala jail

Famous Punjabi singer Daler Mehndi has been arrested by the police. In 2003, a case of pigeon pelting was registered on Diler Mehndi. In which he was earlier imprisoned for 2 years. He challenged this sentence in the sessions court of Patiala. He was arrested today as the sentence remained intact there too. Diler will now be sent to Patiala Central Jail to serve the sentence. Former cricketer Navjot Sidhu is also lodged in this jail.

The trial court had sentenced
A case was registered against Daler Mehndi in 2003. In 2018, Patiala’s Judicial Magistrate Court sentenced him to two years’ imprisonment and a fine of Rs 2,000 after a hearing of nearly 15 years. Due to the sentence being less than 3 years, Daler Mehndi got bail at the same time. In this case, accused Bulbul Mehta was acquitted. At the same time, Shamsher Singh and Dhyan Singh have died.

Petition dismissed in sessions court
Daler challenged the decision of the trial court in the Patiala Sessions Court. During its hearing on Thursday, Additional Sessions Judge HS Grewal dismissed Daler’s plea. After which Daler was arrested from there.

This allegation of pigeon pelting on Daler
Daler Mehndi used to go abroad for shows. He is accused of illegally taking 10 people to America with him in 1998-99 while going for the show. He described these people as part of his team. In exchange for taking them abroad, money was taken. After which Daler’s brother Shamsher was first booked for human trafficking on September 19, 2003. After interrogation, the police also named Daler in this.
