Gandhi once again spoke about this promise during an interaction with gig workers and delivery persons of various companies in the election-bound state of Karnataka.

Keeping in view the difficulty of the distribution persons, the Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Sunday reiterated his party’s promise to set up a Gig Workers Welfare Board in Karnataka with a corpus fund of Rs 3,000 crore and a minimum hourly wage for them.

Gandhi once again spoke about this promise during an interaction with gig workers and delivery persons of various companies in the election-bound state of Karnataka.

Over a cup of coffee and masala dosa, Gandhi discussed with them the lives of delivery workers, lack of stable employment and rising prices of basic commodities to understand them, the Congress said in a party release.

He also listened carefully as to why the youth have taken up gig jobs and what are their working conditions, the release said.

“More than two lakh people are doing gig jobs in Bengaluru alone. The Congress party has made specific promises to them in the manifesto, mainly setting up a Gig Workers Welfare Board with a corpus of Rs 3,000 crore and ensuring a minimum hourly wage for gig workers and other workers in the unorganized sector. Said.

Gandhi later sat in the back seat and went on a ride with the delivery partner.
