Happy birthday Rinku Rajguru: Actress Rinku Rajguru turns 21 today. The Marathi native, best known for her film debut in the Marathi film Sairat (2006), has since appeared in 10 more films, with two in the pipeline. Rajguru was only 15 when he stole hearts as Archie Patil in Sairat and won a National Film Award for his performance. She has kept herself busy in the world of cinema and has also featured in a web series. As the actress celebrates her birthday on June 3, here’s a look at five of her recent and upcoming projects.

  1. Hundred (2020)
    In this web series, Rajguru plays a terminally ill woman who learns that she has only 100 days left to live. He decides to join forces with tough ACP Saumya Shukla (Lara Dutta) to tackle corruption. While the premise sounds serious, it is actually an action comedy in tone. Watch the trailer below.
  2. Ankahi Kahaniya (2021)
    Rajguru Jayant appears in the segment directed by Abhishek Chaubey based on Kaikini’s Kannada short story ‘Madhyantar’. It is a trip back to the glory days of single-screen theatres. Rajguru plays the role of Manjari, who falls in love with Nandu (Delzad Hiwale), who works in a cinema hall. Watch the trailer below.
  3. Jhund (2022)
    Directed by Nagraj Popatrao Manjule, the film is based on the life of Vijay Barse, a social worker from Nagpur who uplifted aimless slum children through football. Barse has been changed to Vijay Borade in the film starring Amitabh Bachchan. Rinku Rajguru plays one of the underprivileged kids of Borade to play football.
  4. Eighth Rang Premcha (2022)
    In this Marathi language film directed by Khushbu Sinha, Rajguru plays Kritika, a working woman who becomes a victim of a life-changing acid attack. The film deals with the sensitive issue of acid attacks and intertwines the issues of social ethics and morality. Makrand Deshpande plays a police officer who is also the victim’s father.
  5. Killar (2024)
    Khiller, directed by Makarand Mane, deals with the controversial issue of bullock cart races which are a tradition in Maharashtra that has been legally recognized by the Supreme Court of India. Rinku Rajguru is in the lead role alongside Lalit Prabhakar.
