The film, which made its box office debut with an estimated collection of Rs 8.50 crore, saw a drop in its collections by an estimated Rs 2.25 crore on Friday, which was the working weekday. The film credited its massive opening day collections to the Eid holiday, which helped it earn Rs. Its 2nd day collection is estimated at Rs 14.75 crore.
According to reports, had it not been for the Eid holiday, the film’s first day collection would have been much less. In fact, trade experts estimate that the film would have collected around Rs 6 crore if it had released on a regular weekday.
Now all eyes are on the box office to see how well the film does in its first weekend. In the coming week, it will have to match its opening day figures to retain its hold at the box office, if it doesn’t reach double digits.
‘SKK’ has a chance to grow as there will be no new Hindi releases in the upcoming weekend. However, it remains to be seen whether Hollywood movies like ‘Mission: Impossible 7’oppenheimer‘ and ‘Barbie’ eat into its profits.
Keeping in mind the regional appeal, Gujarat and Saurashtra regions will be crucial for the film’s success. But despite the local flavor the film deals with mature themes that may not work for conservative audiences.
