SMC signs MoU for e-mobility | Surat News – Times of India

Surat: An MoU was signed between Surat Municipal Corporation, Union Ministry of Heavy Industry and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH on Wednesday to promote sustainable e-mobility under Indo-German technical cooperation.
Surat has been selected as a partner city under the Indo-German technical cooperation project, funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, to drive a robust and eco-friendly e-transport transformation in India. has been done and the project is to be implemented. Ernst Doering, Cluster Head and Project Director (Urban), GIZ, and Shalini Agarwal, SMC Municipal Commissioner, signed the MoU. “The broad objectives are to drive adoption of electric mobility through capacity building and training, plan transformation for electrification, build business models in electric mobility, knowledge sharing, leverage in the field of solar energy,” the SMC said in a statement.
“Diamond City is one of the three cities selected by MHI for which we are the first to sign the MoU. Lucknow and Chandigarh are the other two cities,” said an SMC official.
