Bhubaneswar: The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has started soil testing for the Bhubaneswar Metro Rail Project. The investigation will give information about the physical properties of the soil and whether the ground is suitable and strong enough to sustain a structure.
“The DMRC has started collecting soil samples from various places between Trisulia and Nandankanan. They will also collect samples between Nandankanan and the city airport. After testing the soil, it will prepare a detailed project report,” said an official.
Decision on route, alignment and other related works will be taken on the basis of DPR. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had announced the metro rail project on Utkal Divas. In the first phase, the Metro will cover about 30 km (from Trisulia in Cuttack to Biju Patnaik International Airport). It will also add Jatni and Khurda and later Puri. news network
