Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday assured all members in the Lok Sabha that the Center is ready and willing to discuss all issues regarding law and order in the northeastern state. However, he also said that some political parties were unnecessarily creating such a situation so that the discussion could not take place. He further alleged that the opposition is not as serious about Manipur as it should be.
Accusing the opposition members of not being serious enough on the Manipur situation, the Defense Minister said, “Some political parties are trying to create unnecessary ruckus in Parliament to ensure that Manipur cannot be discussed. ,
The first day of the ongoing monsoon session was disrupted on Thursday in both the Houses of Parliament over demands for discussion on Manipur.
“The PM has said that strict action will be taken on the incident. We want a discussion on Manipur in Parliament. “I had said this in the all-party meeting and I would like to reiterate in this august House that we want a discussion on Manipur,” Singh said.
Speaking to media persons before the commencement of the Parliament session on Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that his heart was filled with pain and anger over the Manipur incident.
He said, “What happened to the daughters of Manipur can never be forgiven.”
PM Modi said, “This incident is a shameful act for any civilized society. Irrespective of whoever committed this sin, the wrongdoer, the whole country is feeling ashamed. 140 crore citizens are feeling ashamed.” I appeal to all Chief Ministers to strengthen law and order in their states, especially take strict steps to ensure the safety of our mothers and sisters.”
“Whether the incident is in Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh or Manipur, in any corner of India, in any state government, it is important to uphold the importance of rule of law and dignity of women, rising above political controversies. I want to assure Am.” The citizens of this country have faith that no wrongdoer will be spared. Every step will be taken to ensure that the law is enforced in its full force.”
Meanwhile, the lower house was adjourned till 12 noon on Friday amid sloganeering by some opposition members over Manipur.
