The accused of the assault died on the spot, the family alleges the murder by the police

The Bommanahalli police are in the dock after a 28-year-old man accused of assault allegedly fell from the third floor of the building to escape from the police.

However, the family of the deceased, Mohd Hussain, alleged that the police pushed him from the building while taking him into custody and demanded registration of a murder case against the officials concerned.

The incident took place on Wednesday afternoon when the police went to Hussain’s house to take him into custody for questioning on the basis of a complaint of assault. Hussain had allegedly assaulted a girl in the neighborhood and created nuisance in the area.

According to the police, when they went to take him into custody, Hussain tried to escape and in the scuffle, jumped off the building and was seriously injured. He was taken to the hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.

The Bommanahalli police have registered a case of suspicious death, while the relatives of the deceased have accused the police of murder.
