Belagavi: Thirst FoundationAn NGO working on water scarcity in remote areas has started a lake rejuvenation project in Nagarmunnoli. Raibag Taluks of the district. There is no water in any of the open wells in the village and the borewells have gone more than 700 feet deep. Thirst is developing a project that will create a lake by excavating it to a suitable depth to provide water. Apart from this, the lake will also help in improving the groundwater level.
According to the release, the lake is being constructed at a cost of about Rs 15 lakh with the contribution of the public and thirst. A target has been set to complete this project by the first week of June.
This is the 11th such project developed by PYAAS which is working for last 8 years to ensure water sufficiency in the district. Pyaas has also restarted its project of supplying water to the people of Belagavi through its tankers. news network
