In Jodhpur, a case of assault with a young man has come to light for posting the status of The Kerala Story movie. He also threatened to cut the throat of the young man. The victim of the assault is associated with the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and the Bajrang Dal. VHP and Bajrang Dal workers created ruckus at Uday Mandir police station on Sunday afternoon. VHP workers demanded action against those involved in the assault.
Victim Abhishek (24) son Raju Sargara told that he had come to the cinema hall on Friday after watching Kerala Story movie. He had posted a status on his WhatsApp regarding the film’s poster. He said that this movie is very good. This is a must watch for all the girls in the world. So that girls avoid conversion and stay safe.
After this incident with the youth, activists associated with Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal reached Uday Mandir police station and demanded action.
Abhishek told- He was going to his house between 8.30 to 9 pm on Saturday night. When the main road reached Merti Gate near Kali Tanki, Pintu, Aman and Ali blocked the way. Told him what status you have put on Kerala Story? You are trying to defame religion.
I told them what wrong I have put in the status? At that time my mobile was on charge at home. When the youth asked to show the mobile, I came with them to my house. Told mummy that this is my friend.
After this, I took out the mobile from the house and started showing them outside as soon as what is wrong with my mobile? In the meantime, he started fighting with me.
The young man told that there was nothing like this in his status. His intention was not to hurt the sentiments of any religion. The only thing written in his status was that everyone should watch this movie.
Uday Mandir police station is currently engaged in the investigation of the case.
Here, after the incident, activists associated with VHP and Bajrang Dal gathered at Uday Mandir police station on Sunday afternoon and demanded the police to arrest the named accused and take action.
VHP workers alleged that watching movies is a free right of any person and it is not justified to thrash people for posting status.

VHP’s District Minister (East) Jitendra Sharma, who reached the Uday Mandir police station with the youth, said – called one of our friends out of the house on the pretext of some work and assaulted them. He somehow escaped and ran to his house. The young man had posted the status. This was the status of The Kerala Story. There was nothing objectionable about any caste religion in the status. Such people will be answered in their own language.
The VHP believes that people have the right to watch any film that has been passed through the censors through the legal process.
