Kolkata:

Trinamool Youth Congress president and Bengali actor Sayoni Ghosh has been summoned again by the Enforcement Directorate on July 5 in connection with the teacher recruitment scam case in West Bengal.

Earlier, the agency had summoned him on Friday.

After being released from the ED office after an 11-hour long questioning, Sayoni Ghosh on Friday said she has submitted some basic documents and cooperated with ED officials.

He said, “I have submitted some basic documents and also cooperated with them (ED officials). I stayed here for 11 hours today. I think they (ED officials) are satisfied. If they ask me, I will come again.” I can come.” from reporters.

Earlier, the ED had on June 8 summoned Trinamool Congress national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee to appear before it on June 13 in connection with the alleged teacher recruitment scam.

In May, Mr Banerjee was questioned for over 9 hours by the Central Bureau of Investigation in a multi-crore recruitment scam in schools in West Bengal.

Trinamool MP Shatrughan Sinha on Friday criticized the BJP government for using central agencies to harass the opposition and claimed it was their “desperate attempt to take revenge”.

Shatrughan Sinha said, “Some people are there, and some agencies that are there are not doing the right thing; they are unsuccessfully trying to harass many people, especially the opposition.”

Targeting the BJP, he said that it is a desperate attempt to take revenge before being voted out of power. He said, “This is a desperate attempt to take revenge; like a lamp that flickers before it is extinguished, so is the situation with the BJP.”
