“We’re back, happy to chat!” WhatsApp tweets after global outage

WhatsApp connectivity issues, which were reported by thousands of users across the world on Wednesday, have been resolved, according to Meta Platforms. The company said it has resolved the issues affecting the messaging app. This information comes from Downdetector.com, an outage tracking website.

“We’re back, happy to chat!” posted the Twitter account of WhatsApp in a tweet.

According to Meta’s status dashboard, the company had earlier acknowledged experiencing disruptions in “incoming messages and message delivery” on WhatsApp. However, they have now resolved the problems reported by thousands of users globally, according to outage tracking website DownDetector.com.

downdetectorThe outage tracking website revealed that during the incident, there were more than 37,000 reports of problems with the messaging service in the United States alone. The reports were aggregated from a variety of sources, including user-submitted errors on DownDetector’s platform, which collects status reports to track outages.

In the United Kingdom, over 177,000 users reported problems with WhatsApp, while in India, around 15,000 users faced difficulties while using the messaging app. These significant numbers of problem reports highlight the widespread impact of disruptions experienced WhatsApp users in these countries.

To recall, in April this year as well, WhatsApp faced technical issues for some users in India, as reported by Downdetector.

Some users facing issues had reported on Twitter that they could not download videos received on the app. However, the problem seemed to affect Android beta users more often.

According to downdetectorNearly half of WhatsApp users, specifically 43 percent, faced problems while using the app. Most of the problems, around 41 percent, were believed to have arisen from server connection issues, while 16 percent reported difficulties sending messages.
