WhatsApp It is testing many new features on its platform. The company recently started testing the updated emoji reaction, ability to move chat here iOS For more beta users and more. WABeta has now reported that the company has started testing support for voice notes in the Status section.
The feature is likely to be named ‘Voice Status’ and according to the report, users will be able to post voice notes as WhatsApp status.
According to the report, the feature is being rolled out whatsapp beta For Android Version 2.22.16.3 Update. There is no information available on whether the company will roll out the feature for the iOS version.
WhatsApp Voice Status: How It Works
WABetaInfo has also posted a screenshot where it can be seen that the company has added a new ‘Microphone’ icon at the bottom of the Status tab. Tapping on the option will allow users to record a quick note and post it as a status update.
It’s also important to note that Voice Status will only be available to the people you select in the privacy settings. Also, it will be end-to-end encrypted like calls and messages.
As of now, it is not clear when the company will roll out this feature in the final build of the app. Also, this feature is currently being rolled out only in beta.
