Kapil begins by asking Sudha how she met her husband Narayan Murthy, to which Sudha enthusiastically replies, “A friend, his name was Prasanna, and he was my colleague. And every day a book lay… Narayan Murthy Istanbul, Narayan Murthy Peshawar, I thought this Narayan Murthy is an international bus conductor? (Prasanna was my friend and colleague. He used to bring a book every day… Narayan Murthy Istanbul, Narayan Murthy Peshawar. Was this gentleman, I wondered, the conductor of an international bus?) But Sudha Murthy was not finished.
He further added, “I felt like a film hero, handsome, Narayan Murthy… dashing. When he opened the door, I thought who is this man, the little boy?” (I thought Narayana Murthy would be like hero and dashing. When he opened the door, I was confused and thought who is this little kid?) It was the last straw, and everyone burst into laughter. Infosys co-founders Narayana Murthy and Sudha have been married for 44 years.
