Union Tourism and Culture Minister G Kishan Reddy, who formally took charge as the Telangana BJP president on Friday, said the party will not rest till the ruling BRS government is removed electorally. Speaking at a party meeting after taking charge, Reddy said there was a need to work unitedly with the goal of defeating the BRS in the state, as the BJP’s senior leadership believes that Telangana will emerge after Karnataka and Puducherry. It is one of the southern states where the saffron party can win. potentially come to power.
Referring to Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, Reddy said the ‘new Nizam’ and his family think they are the masters and kings of Telangana and that the state should be loyal to their progeny as well. “I will work together with Sanjay and other leaders and will not rest till the BRS government is buried at Abids Square (Hyderabad),” he said.
Questioning the Chandrasekhar Rao government on various poll promises, the Union minister said the game has begun and the people of Telangana will fight under the leadership of the BJP to defeat the BRS. Attacking the efforts of the opposition parties to form an alliance, he said that it is inevitable that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will once again win the 2024 general elections and become the PM again.

Without naming anyone, Sanjay Kumar requested the party leaders to allow Kishan Reddy to work in peace. Before taking charge at the party office, Reddy offered prayers at the Sri Bhagyalakshmi temple adjacent to Charminar.
He along with other senior leaders garlanded the statues of Dr BR Ambedkar and others. Earlier this month, in an attempt to put an end to the internal tussle in the BJP and prolonged media speculation over the developments, the party’s central leadership appointed Kishan Reddy as the state party chief in place of Sanjay Kumar.
