Noida: Police are on the lookout for a woman who allegedly stole a day-old baby from a government hospital on Wednesday morning.
According to the police, they got information about the incident around 6.30 am on Wednesday.
“A team from Sector 24 police station immediately reached the hospital and spoke to the child’s parents. During investigation, it was learned that the couple Tanveer and his wife Ishrat lived in the house. Khoda Colony in Ghaziabad. They are originally from Bihar. Ishrat was admitted to ESI hospital on Tuesday for delivery,” said Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Shakti Awasthi.
After delivery, the woman was shifted to the ward and when the woman woke up on Wednesday, she found the boy missing.
“The child was not with her, following which she raised an alarm. A search operation was launched and the staff were questioned. Our teams checked the footage of all the CCTV cameras installed in the hospital premises, in which a woman was seen going out Was.” Carrying the new born baby in the hospital premises. The footage is from 4.30 am.”
The parents have filed a police complaint, based on which an FIR has been registered under IPC section 363 (kidnapping). Awasthi said, “A case has been registered against the unknown woman. We are checking the footage of CCTV cameras installed on the streets to know the movement of the woman. The motive behind this act will be clear after the arrest.”
Sources told the police that the accused woman was being seen roaming around the hospital for the last few weeks.
A senior official told TOI, “The hospital has no record of her, so it seems she came to the hospital with the intention of kidnapping the child.”
Deputy Medical Superintendent Dr. Sona Bedi said, “CMO Casualty received information about the incident from other wards around 6 am, following which the police were informed. If there is any lapse or involvement of staff, we will take necessary action against them.” do.”
