Tirupati: A woman allegedly set her ex-husband on fire in Madanapalle rural mandal of Annamayya district of Tamil Nadu. Andhra Pradesh Thursday late.
The victim has been identified as Bawaji (33), a resident of Rama Rao area of ​​Madanapalle.
According to local police, Bawaji had married Yasmin a few years back and the couple had three children.
About 10 days ago, both of them separated due to rift in the family.
On Thursday night, when Bawaji came to meet his children living with their mother, Yasmin had a heated argument with Bawaji.
In a fit of rage, Yasmin poured petrol on her ex-husband and set him ablaze and was allegedly supported by other members of her family.
Hearing Bawaji’s cry for help, the local people rushed there and shifted him to the Government General Hospital at Madanapalle. Doctors said that Bawaji has suffered 90% burns and his condition is critical.
Madanapalle rural police registered a case and took the accused woman into custody for questioning.
