Nearly 1,000 arrested in Pakistan province amid protests over Imran Khan's arrest

Lahore, Pakistan:

Nearly 1,000 people have been arrested in Pakistan’s most populous province Punjab since protests began following the arrest of former prime minister Imran Khan. The police gave this information on Wednesday.

“Police teams arrested 945 law breakers and troublemakers from across the province,” officials said in a statement to the media. 130 officers and officials were injured in the violence that broke out after Khan’s arrest on Tuesday.
